Learning how to sail is the beginning of a new and exciting lifestyle, like riding a bicycle, once you learn to sail, you have an activity you can do forever. Here at GT Sailing, we believe this to be true and want to share our love for sailing with you.

In this month’s blog, we’re going to use this blog to highlight our sailing classes, the path you can take to become a sailor in your own right and start going on adventures that will give you stories for a lifetime.

Who Can Take Our Program?

Whether you’re a first-timer or a partially certified ASA member, we provide the training you need to take your next steps in the certification process. Our experienced instructors are all ASA certified, and Coast Guard licensed, and we won’t rest until you’re a confident and capable sailor.

The Journey of Our Program

If you plan on becoming a sailing prodigy, you can expect to take five courses with us, all instructed by one of our premier sailors on staff. You’ll find tremendous value throughout these classes, and we hope this snapshot view of them tugs at your sense of adventure and encourages you to sign up!

  • ASA 101 (2-day course) – Includes a shortened ASA registration, and it will teach you the foundational skills you’ll use throughout your sailing career.
  • ASA 103 (2-day course) – Will teach you advanced sailing skills, giving you practice with essential onboard systems and teaching a holistic understanding of the boat.
  • ASA 104 (2-day course) – Explores boat systems in-depth and teaches the leadership skills to command a boat with confidence, also we cover general maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency procedures.
  • ASA 105 (take home course) – Unfortunately, we don’t get to go sailing for this certification. However, this class will teach you essential tools you need to take extended trips.
  • ASA 106 (3-day course) – You’ll get hands-on experience planning and executing an overnight sailing trip.
