Do you offer bare boat charters?

Yes! For more information on pricing and licensing requirements, click here to contact us today.

Should I worry about getting seasick?

If you have a history of seasickness, then you may want to avoid excursions on Lake Michigan on windy days. Lake Michigan tends to have steeper waves than oceans, which can make windy Lake Michigan voyages tough on people with seasickness. If you have a history of seasickness, we recommend booking a charter close to the coastline and selecting days with a lower forecasted wave height.

How far in advance should I book a charter?

We don’t have any restrictions on how far in advance you need to book a charter, just make sure to contact us if you have a short-notice inquiry. That said, our summer schedule books fast as sailors flock to the water, so booking earlier is the best way to guarantee a spot.

How should I dress?

We highly recommend wearing non-slip boat shoes and layered clothing for your voyage. The winds on Lake Michigan can change at the drop of a hat, which can change even the warmest days into an uncomfortable cold if you get wet.

What should(n’t) I bring on a sailing charter?

We’ll provide all the essentials you need for safe sailing (such as life preservers, first aid kits, and emergency devices). We’ll also provide light food and drinks to refresh you on our voyage. For daytime voyages, we recommend bringing a secure hat to protect your head from sunburn and sunglasses to protect your eyesight from the sun reflecting off the waves.

If you’re bringing anything you can’t bear to lose (wallet, phone, keys), we recommend either stowing it away or putting it on a loop so you can’t drop it.

What types of boats can we charter?

We have two boats available for charter: Paradigm and Sanity. To learn more about either vessel, click here to visit our fleet page.

Can I bring food and/or alcoholic drinks?

Feel free to bring any food and alcoholic beverages you’d like. We’ll provide light refreshments and snacks during the voyage, but we recommend bringing your own food and drinks if you don’t plan on eating a meal beforehand.

I’m new to this. Which charter should I choose?

We recommend scheduling our 2 ½ hour cruise on Lake Macatawa and Lake Michigan. This charter is a good length of time for new sailors that also tours some of the best areas that Michigan’s lakes have to offer.

Are your charters public or private?

All of our charters are private party, meaning that you and your guests will be the only passengers.
